hyenas

Kingdom: Animalia

Phylum: Chordata

Class: Mammalia

Order: Carnivore

Family: Hyaenidae

They are carnivorous usually feasting on zebras and gazelles. They weed out the weak and sick as prey items. They live in territorial social groups called clans, which are dominated by females. They are primarily hunters. A hyena will usually hunt alone however clans will hunt together in order to catch a larger prey. They are also good opportunistic hunters. Hyenas are particularly efficient predators since they are capable of digesting bones, horns and even the teeth of their prey.

Just a few minutes ago, a hyena came by our house and borrowed money from my mom. The others are nowhere to be seen, probably feeding on someone else.

Packing hyenas!
