When my boyfie came back from his week-long trip to Japan, he gave me these wonderful pasalubongs.
He knows I keep paper bags and gift wrappers, even plastic bags, of everything he gives me (Am I a hoarder?Or just a very sentimental person?O.o) so it was not a surprise to see the pasalubongs still in their packaging.
For all seven cellphones I've had in my entire life, I never used a charm on any of them. Maybe because I like the phones themselves to be the center of attention. (: But these phone charms are unique (at least, for me), that I kept both (one was supposed to be for my sister who lives in the US). I am currently using the red one for my BB. I am still deciding if I should use the black one for my Nokia phone because that would mean using two "jingling" phones.
I've always wanted to try the Japanese's art of cloth wrapping, but the OC-me didn't want to practice on ordinary cloths. I obsessed on the idea of having lots of furoshikis. Although the ones above are smaller than what I wanted (and not plain, basic colors), they are still able to hold/wrap books and small boxes.
Another obsession of mine is washi tape. I count this as one of the greatest inventions of all time. Haha! They are so cute and can be used for a lot of things like greeting cards, gift wraps, and labels. I also wanted plain, basic colors for washi tapes. Please note, however, that I am not complaining. I adoooore the designs shown above! It's just that I usually opt for the basic colors, even in clothes. It is only now that I am starting to open up to prints and patterns. Plus, when I have just one piece for a specific design, I tend to scrimp on it so as to avoid no longer having that particular design.
I have always wanted to go to Japan to taste authentic Japanese food. But I think buying more furoshiki and washi tapes will now be my first priority when I get there. (:
